Congratulations Melissa!

My wonderful wife Melissa just accepted a new position as Director of Development for the Girls Middle School in Mountain View, CA. She’s really excited about the new opportunity, and I’m really proud of her for such an achievement. She starts officially on October 22nd.

I’m excited to see all the great things she’ll accomplish for the school. Congratulations!

Back in the US of A

I’ve been back for just over a week, over jet lag and back in the swing of things. I had a great time during my trip, but I’m glad to be back home. :) A few things I missed:

  • My wife
  • My iphone – it works in other countries, but the international rates are criminal
  • SportsCenter – not the European version.
  • Beer – KingFisher and Royal Challenge aren’t my favorites.
  • The weather

To name a few.

cab drive

Quite an experience. :)

A sneak peak of Munnar

I’m just testing out putting up pics and video. This is one of many waterfalls scattered throughout the area. I’ll try posting a video next.

Back in Hyderabad

I made it back to Hyderabad Monday evening.

The weekend trip to Munnar was awesome. We saw beautiful hills full of tea plants, huge waterfalls, wild elephants and monkeys.

We flew out of Hyderabad south 1.5 hours to Kochi, in the state of Kerala. From there, we took a taxi 4 hours up into the hills until we made it to our final destination, the High Range Club.

It’s still the monsoon season(until October), so we got our fair share of rain. It started pouring about an hour away from the club. The next morning it was sunny and clear, making for a great day trip through the local sight-seeing destinations. It began to rain again around 3 or 4 pm, at which point we grabbed some food in the village and headed back to the club.

I’ve posted pictures online:

I took some small videos too. Once I figure out the best way to get them online, I’ll post those as well.

weekend trip

I’m heading south to a place called Munnar for the weekend, returning Monday evening. It’s supposed to be a really cool place, very green and with lots of wild animals. I guess they make a lot of tea there, too. I’ll give a full report when I return.
